Job Summary
Use consistent and accurate welding techniques to weld seals and maintain an inventory of this item.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Mig and Tig weld buildup to repair washed out or worn areas on control valves and components (Balls, Plugs, Discs, Shafts, etc.)
- Grind, sand, polish, valves and components back to factory specifications.
- Use mig bore welder to repair bonnets
- Weld diaphragms for sealed systems pressure transmitters using automated welding lathe
- Fabricate sealed systems per job orders
- Test sealed systems after fabrication with vacuum to ensure no leaks are present
- Build up stock or various parts for inventory (Seals, L brackets, Capsules, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
1+ years welding experienceWorking knowledge of might and tig weldingMust be able to pass 2G weld certificationRequired Skills and Attributes
Strong attention to detailAbility to weld various metals, mild steel, 316, Hastelloy, stellite alloy 6Operate mig and tig welders, drill press and various hand toolsOperate oxy acetylene torch safelyKeep up with inventory control of consumable welding and grinding itemsFabricate carts, fixtures, and various other itemsPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS :
Must be able to stand 6 – 8 hours per shiftMust be able to lift 30 pounds
