Development Operations Specialist
CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Development Operations Specialist within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities. You will be responsible for functioning as a technical expert across multiple project assignments, planning and leading major technology assignments, and evaluating performance results and recommending major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. In essence, your responsibilities will include ensuring that the infrastructure and environment support the software development lifecycle effectively and efficiently. This position is located in our Arlington office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities :
- Build and Deployment : Assisting with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of build and deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, and other CI / CD technologies.
- System Administration : Experience configuring with servers (Windows, Linux), databases, networks, and / or other IT infrastructure components used in the development lifecycle.
- Troubleshooting : Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity within the development environment.
- Automation : Developing and implementing scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, streamline workflows, and improve efficiency.
- Monitoring and Performance : Monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to optimize efficiency and ensure uptime.
- Security and Compliance : Implementing and maintaining security measures, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations, and managing access controls.
- Documentation : Creating and maintaining documentation for systems, processes, and procedures related to development operations.
- Collaboration : Working closely with developers, testers, and other IT teams to facilitate communication and collaboration.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role :
Experience : Shall possess a minimum 8 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.Education : In addition to experience, shall possess a Master's degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or have Bachelor's degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 2 years of related senior experience, for a total of 10 years, as a substitute to the Master's degree.Security Clearance : Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS / SCI with Poly; active TS / SCI with Poly highly desired.Required : IT change management experience (3 yrs.)Highly Desired : Proficient oral and written communication skills, IT program management experience (2 yrs.)Operating Systems : Strong knowledge of Windows and / or Linux server administration.Networking : Understanding of network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting.Scripting : Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.CI / CD Tools : Experience with Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and other relevant tools.Database Management : Familiarity with SQL Server, MySQL, or other database systems.Cloud Technologies : Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is often required.Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.Communication : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.Team Leader : Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
