We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. This is a long-term contract opportunity within the telecom services industry, offering the chance to apply your expertise in cost accounting in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial analysis and cost management, alongside proficiency with Oracle Fusion.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and analyze monthly cost accounting reports to ensure accurate financial tracking.
• Manage and evaluate standard costs within the manufacturing environment to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
• Conduct detailed cost analysis to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cost accounting practices align with business objectives.
• Utilize Oracle Fusion to maintain and update cost accounting records and processes.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights based on cost data.
• Monitor and report on variances between actual and standard costs to identify trends.
• Support audits and compliance efforts by providing accurate and timely cost-related data.
• Implement and refine cost accounting methodologies to enhance financial reporting.
• Provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives based on thorough analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant cost accounting experience.
• Proven expertise in manufacturing cost accounting processes and methodologies.
• Proficiency in Oracle Fusion is mandatory.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with standard cost accounting practices and cost analysis.
• Manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.
