Overview

JAS Builders, a leading contractor specializing in house lifts, home renovations, and new home construction, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team!

Location : St Petersburg, FL Type : Full-Time

Base pay range : $65,000.00 / yr - $95,000.00 / yr

Role

As an Estimator at JAS Builders , you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our projects by providing accurate cost estimates for house lifting, renovation, and new construction projects. You'll work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors and clients to analyze project requirements, assess costs, and deliver competitive bids that align with our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for house lifting, home renovations, and new home construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project plans to identify scope, requirements, and potential challenges.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure estimates align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Present estimates and proposals to clients, providing clear explanations and addressing questions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction techniques, particularly in house lifting and coastal construction.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, preferably with exposure to house lifting, renovations, or residential construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs, with specific knowledge of house lifting techniques being a plus.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Square TAKEOFF, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
