Location : Santa Ana, CA

Pay : Up to $26.00 / hour (depending on experience)

Position Summary

As a Lead Electro-Mechanical Assembler, you will oversee and participate in the assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical products. You'll guide and support other assemblers, enforce quality standards, and ensure production targets are met. You must have hands-on experience and the ability to lead in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Lead and perform complex electro-mechanical assembly work, including final assembly, wiring, mechanical integration, and subassemblies.

Provide guidance, training, and supervision to junior assemblers.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions.

Perform quality inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of assemblies.

Ensure proper cable routing, harnessing, and component placement per specification.

Use a range of hand tools and precision measuring instruments (e.g. calipers, micrometers) effectively.

Work on bench assembly and on machinery / mechanisms when needed.

Identify and address defects or nonconformities, escalate issues, and suggest process improvements.

Maintain documentation and records related to production, quality, and testing.

Enforce workplace safety, ESD (electrostatic discharge) controls, and clean practices.

Experience & Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical or electronic assembly.

Proven ability to lead or supervise others is a plus.

Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.

Proficient in soldering, wiring, cable harnessing, and component mounting.

Experience with reading and working with electrical / pneumatic schematics.

Competent with hand and power tools, as well as precision measurement equipment.

Prior experience or certification in soldering standards (e.g. IPC / J-STD) is preferred.

Ability to troubleshoot and debug assemblies.

Education & Skills

High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade schooling in electronics or related fields is advantageous.

Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Basic mathematical skills and ability to interpret manufacturing drawings.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions

Onsite work in a manufacturing / production environment.

May require standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to moderate weight (e.g. up to 25 lbs).

Use of ESD-safe tools, handling of small parts, and exposure to typical shop conditions (noise, dust, etc.).

Occasional overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.
