Job Description Summary
GE Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer specializing in coatings for aerospace and defense applications to join our team. In this role, you will lead the development, optimization, and implementation of advanced coating processes for critical aerospace components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering measurable improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the highest performance and durability of coated components.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Provide expertise in advanced coating technologies, including
ceramic coatings metallic coatings , and polymeric coatings
Identify and implement lean manufacturing principles to improve coating process efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
Support the introduction of new products by developing robust coating processes for new designs and materials.
Ensure all coating processes comply with aerospace and defense industry standards, including
NADCAP AS9100 , and customer-specific requirements.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations.
Required Qualifications
Desired Characteristics
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on coatings for aerospace and defense applications.
In-depth knowledge of coating processes, including thermal spray, PVD, CVD, and plasma coatings.
NADCAP certification in coating processes is highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
