Senior Corporate Accountant
Job Summary : The Senior Corporate Accountant primary responsibilities include recording and reconciling inventory, payroll, eliminations, and allocations. The successful candidate will have a positive, professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills and will be able to work as a team player. The nature of the work will require that the candidate demonstrate initiative, responsibility, and be flexible / adaptive to a fast-paced and fluid business environment. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the department and organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepares journal entries, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations for month-end close primarily related to; inventory, payroll, allocations, and eliminations.
- Prepare necessary documentation and support for external audit, ensuring timely completion of audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures.
- Assists with preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Participate in special projects directed towards enhancing ERP integrity and system improvements.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in accounting processes
- Preparation of documentation in support of periodic government reports and surveys.
- All other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements :
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year accredited college or university, and 3+ years related experience and / or training preferably in a manufacturing setting.Quality Management - Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.Leadership Exhibits confidence in self and others; inspires and motivates others to perform well; effectively influences actions and opinions of others; accepts feedback from others; gives appropriate recognition to others.Change Agent Helps drive change in processes and generates ideas for process improvement.Company Focus Possess the ability to look beyond the detail to determine the impact on the entire organization.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence including process documentation.Ability to speak effectively before groups or employees of the organization.Ability to type both text and figures quickly and accurately. 10 key skills (by touch).Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing Software.Pay : $80,000-$110,000 per year
