Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join its legal team in Westbury, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plaintiff-side personal injury law and will assist attorneys through all stages of litigation — from client intake to settlement or trial. This role requires professionalism, precision, and strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
Key Responsibilities :
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including complaints, discovery responses, subpoenas, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Manage / organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and is up to date.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and court appearances.
- Request, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and related documentation.
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and gather case information.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely filings and responses.
- Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and other materials for hearings and trials.
- Assist with negotiating and finalizing lien resolutions and settlements.
Qualifications :
5+ years of experience as a paralegal in a personal injury law firm (plaintiff side).Understanding of personal injury litigation, court procedures, and legal terminology.Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Paralegal certificate or associate’s / bachelor’s degree preferredCompensation & Benefits :
