Sustainability Environmental Engineer

The environmental engineer is a corporate staff position responsible for supporting and coordinating environmental compliance and sustainability efforts across multiple manufacturing plants. This role focuses on implementing environmental best practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of environmental responsibility within manufacturing operations.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position :

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, permits, and standards.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections as necessary.
• Develop and implement sustainability programs aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting resource conservation.
• Identify opportunities for waste reduction, energy efficiency, and water conservation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute sustainability initiatives and track progress toward established goals.
• Establish and maintain an Environmental Management System (EMS) to monitor environmental aspects and impacts.
• Develop procedures and protocols for environmental monitoring, reporting, and incident response.
• Identify and assess environmental risks associated with manufacturing operations.
• Create and implement risk management strategies to mitigate environmental liabilities and prevent incidents.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, community members, and regulatory bodies.
• Communicate environmental performance and initiatives through reports, presentations, and meetings.
• Respond to inquiries and concerns related to environmental matters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
