Job Summary

The Medical Assistant at the California Institute of Technology's Student Wellness Services plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare to students at the Health Center. The Medical Assistant is responsible for clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring that the clinic operates efficiently and that students receive compassionate, timely care. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a team player, and committed to providing excellent service in a dynamic college health environment.

Essential Job Duties

• Clinical Support :

Assist healthcare providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, etc.) with patient care during appointments, including obtaining vital signs, medical history, and assisting with procedures.

Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar.

Serve as the first point of contact for students seeking healthcare services, providing compassionate and patient-centered care.

Work collaboratively with the clinic's interdisciplinary team, including providers, additional medical assistants, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Two years' experience as a medical assistant required.

Current BLS / CPR

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse student populations.

Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and perform job duties including taking vitals, ear lavage, EKGs, and phlebotomy.
