Job Title : Labor and Employment Attorney (5+ Years Experience)

Location : Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Job Type : Full-Time

About the Role :

We are seeking a seasoned Employment Attorney with at least 5 years of experience counseling employers on workplace matters and handling employment-related transactions and compliance issues. This attorney will work directly with clients on a wide range of employment law matters, including policy development, employment agreements, internal investigations, and risk mitigation strategies.

This hybrid position offers flexibility with a mix of in-office and remote work. You'll be part of a collegial and dynamic team serving sophisticated clients across industries.

Key Responsibilities :

Advise employers on a broad spectrum of workplace matters including hiring, discipline, terminations, wage and hour compliance, and employee classifications

Draft and negotiate employment-related agreements, including offer letters, separation agreements, and restrictive covenants

Conduct and oversee internal investigations and audits

Provide guidance on employment policies and compliance with federal, state, and local laws

Support M&A transactions with employment diligence and integration strategies

Defend employers in administrative proceedings (EEOC, IDHR, etc.), as needed

Partner closely with clients to offer proactive legal strategies and risk management

Qualifications :

J.D. from an accredited law school; active license to practice in Illinois

5+ years of employment law experience, preferably representing employers

Solid understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Excellent drafting, communication, and client counseling skills

Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment

Litigation experience is a plus, but not required

Salary starting at $140,000, commensurate with experience
