In the role ofa Communications Consultant Sr. you will beworking in our School of Medicine Administration.
Purpose
Under the direction of School of Medicine leadership - and with independence and minimal supervision - this position develops and manages the implementation of comprehensive executive and internal communications strategies, campaigns, plans, programs, projects and deliverables to address complex issues and achieve MCW's goals and priorities. The Senior Communications Consultant plans, organizes, writes, edits, produces and distributes a variety of highly confidential and complex executive communications which may be disseminated / presented internally and / or externally. This role also connects community and partner stakeholders with MCW's mission and accomplishments through a variety of communications initiatives. This role works directly with Dean of the School of Medicine in partnership with other executive leaders (President and CEO, Provost and Executive Vice President, Executive Vice Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents); faculty leaders (Department Chairs, Senior Associate Deans, Center / Institute Directors), members of the Office of Communications, Office of Development and Finance team, as well as MCW departments, regional campuses, institutes and centers in supporting the MCW brand and providing communications support and expertise. As assigned, this person also serves as a communications liaison to internal and external partners, stakeholders and vendors. The Senior Communications Consultant will closely partner with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Office of Communications and Brand Strategy to ensure consistency with MCW brand and communications guidelines as well as to coordinate efforts for shared impact. Occasional travel (less than 10%) within Wisconsin may be required.

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis
Minimum Required Education : Bachelor's degree
Minimum Required Experience : 7 years of experience in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism or a related field required
Preferred Education : Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English or related field
Preferred Experience : 8-10 years integrated communications; five years of strategic communications planning and counsel; experience in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism or a related field required
