Traveling Project Manager
We are seeking a driven and experienced Traveling Project Manager to lead fiber installation projects across the Midwest, with occasional travel to other regions, including Florida. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment and enjoys balancing client-facing responsibilities with hands-on project oversight.
Responsibilities
- Manage 25 fiber installation teams across multiple active job sites.
- Travel to project sites a couple of times per month for kickoff meetings and progress checks.
- Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction.
- Coordinate with internal office staff and field crews; travel via rental truck.
- Oversee underground fiber installations, including jetting techniques.
- Utilize subsurface maps and Excel for planning and execution.
- Handle project estimates, budgeting, equipment logistics, material procurement, and status reporting.
- Provide regular updates to clients and leadership, resolving issues proactively.

This role involves 50% travel to project sites, primarily located in the central US, with one project in Florida. When not on site, work can be conducted remotely or from the office in Kansas City, Kansas. The company provides a $40 per diem, along with covered lodging and rental car expenses. The environment is dynamic, requiring adaptability to both office and field settings.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leawood, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $55.00 / hr.
