Summary

The Senior Manager of Business Development is responsible for leading a team that identifies, cultivates and secures new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and market expansion. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, relationship building, and a deep understanding of the company's products and markets. They develop and implement strategies, manage client relationships, and work collaboratively with other departments to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy and Execution : Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop and implement effective strategies, pitches, presentations, and proposals to drive new business and achieve revenue targets.
  • Negotiation and Deal Closure : Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and other terms to secure new business and close deals.
  • Opportunity Management : Manage opportunity pipeline. Track progress towards goals, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare regular reports and forecasts for management.
  • Team Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, finance, and operations, to ensure aligned efforts and seamless project execution.
  • Market Research and Analysis : Stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities, and market trends to identify new growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Education & Technical : Lead the creation and delivery of comprehensive product education and training programs for both external clients and internal teams to enhance product knowledge, drive adoption, and support sales effectiveness.

  • Negotiation Skills : Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of successfully securing deals and partnerships.
  • Project Management Skills : Ability to oversee initiatives, manage timelines, and ensure smooth execution of projects.
  • Self-Motivation and Drive : Goal-oriented, organized, and proactive individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Engineering, Operations or Business / Marketing
  • Minimum 10 years of related and progressive experience, ideally in a manufacturing industry. Previous people leadership is preferred.
  • Strong experience interacting with both internal and external customers is required. 80 / 20 complexity reduction and simplification experience is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. Proficiency in relevant ERP systems (Oracle and / or SAP) and CRM (SalesForce) is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% as needed, domestically and internationally.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship to obtain or keep U.S. work authorization.
