We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Control Engineer to provide technical and engineering support for automated industrial machinery and industrial electronic controls. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PLC programming, HMI / SCADA systems, industrial electrical schematics, and troubleshooting complex machinery. This role also involves mentoring technicians and apprentices, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, read, and modify electrical schematics, fluid power (hydraulic / pneumatic) schematics, and P&ID diagrams following IEC and NFPA standards.
- Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems using Siemens, Allen Bradley, and other platforms. Languages include SCL, Statement List, Graph 7, FBD, Ladder Logic, Structured Text, VB, C++, C#, Java, Python, MSSQL, and others.
- Install, commission, upgrade, retrofit, and repair industrial machinery, controls, and communication systems.
- Troubleshoot machinery and control systems from any manufacturer, utilizing oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, process calibrators, thermal imagers, vibration analyzers, data loggers, and other test equipment.
- Lead training and development for mechatronics / controls apprentices and seasonal interns in troubleshooting, programming, and fluid power systems.
- Ensure all work is performed safely using appropriate PPE, and comply with company and industry standards.
- Work across multiple locations, supporting production teams and maintaining equipment uptime.
Required Qualifications :
Associate's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science with emphasis on programming, or equivalent experience / certifications.Minimum 10 years of direct experience in industrial automation and controls engineering.Siemens or Allen Bradley programming certifications preferred.State-issued electrical trades license preferred.Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical preferred.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to repair complex machinery and systems.Skills & Competencies :
Advanced knowledge of NFPA 70, IEC standards, and electrical safety practices.Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and programming code in multiple languages.Exceptional communication and mentorship skills for training technicians and apprentices.Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team environment.Ability to travel to multiple facilities as required.Physical Requirements :
