Kato has become a destination for fine dining in Los Angeles. Since its inception nearly eight years ago, chef / owner Jon Yao has offered a menu that pays homage to his roots and identity as a Taiwanese American born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley. The flavors are familiar to many while presentation is unexpected, and hospitality is refreshingly sincere. The restaurant has earned and retained a Michelin Star since 2019, while Yao has recently received the distinction of this year’s Young Chef Award from Michelin. Notably in 2019, Kato also topped the Los Angeles Times’ 101 Best Restaurants list, and the year before Yao was selected as one of Food & Wine's Best New Chefs, among many other accolades.

Job Summary : As an expeditor, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth and timely flow of food preparation and delivery to our guests. You act as the link between Capatins and the kitchen to ensure guest satisfaction. Tasks are to be completed correctly and consistently from day to day. You are responsible for maintaining KATO's quality standards and working in compliance with health codes at all times.

Responsibilities :

• daily station  set up
• managing and executing food expo during service
• proper organizational and communication skills.
• Maintain food storage and handling procedures
• Delivering, clearing and resetting dishes that were executed by you and the kitchen
• Working collaboratively with kitchen and dining room staff
• Maintain food quality standards held by the company
• Perform technical culinary food production, and service standards
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work station, and equipment
• Inspect dishes for accuracy, portion control, proper plating, and overall presentation
• Monitor food production and presentation to ensure adherence to recipe guidelines, quality standards, and guest expectations.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at work station to ensure a smooth service period
• Maintaining a safe and positive work environment
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
• Follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
