Get to Know Your Team : UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of sub-specialty groups. ResponsibilitiesOrder and pick up medications from Pharmacy. Stock carts with needed medications. Require knowledge of generic and brand names for all pharmaceuticals. Maintain medications within their expiration date and properly dispose of expired medicationsStock and clean all assigned areas daily. Stock, clear and replace all anesthesia equipment and supplies as necessaryParticipate in room turnover assuring minimal downtime between casesPerform decontamination of areas after each case. Remove and replace anesthesia circuits and suction. Change soda lime canister as neededSet up special monitoring lines for casesCoordinate basic upkeep and maintenance of anesthesia machine with Biomedical personnelObtain and prepare equipment for transport of critically ill patientsMaintain all specialty carts in the departmentMaintain daily log of refrigerator temperatures in workrooms in Main OR, Day Surgery and OBAdhere to guidelines provided by MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) on hazardous materials and suppliesRecognize, adhere to and is knowledgeable of the Joint Commission standards. QualificationsJob Requirements : High School diploma or equivalentKnowledge of ordering supplies and keeping inventory.
