OBJECTIVE
The Housekeeping / Laundry Director is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Housekeeping / Laundry Departments in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility. The Housekeeping / Laundry Director will also ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

a. Establish a regular schedule of all daily weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual cleaning requirements.
b. Ensure that the facility is neat in appearance and odor free at all times.
c. Attends required in-services and completes assigned on-line modules, if applicable.
d. Establish special cleaning schedules such as windows, walls, curtains, stripping floors, washing beds, etc.
e. Establish laundry schedules with staff to ensure that resident's laundry is maintained and cleaned properly.
f. Schedule cleaning of the resident's room upon discharge with housekeeping staff.
g. Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and / or recreational areas.
h. Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly cleaned and stored.
i. Ensure that all work areas are free of hazardous conditions, i.e., spills, excessive supplies, equipment, etc.
j. Report any damage of walls, floors, furniture, equipment etc. to Executive Director.
k. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
