About The Role

The QA Engineer (Healthcare / EHR Experience Required) will ensure the high quality of our healthcare software products. The role demands a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on involvement. Including test planning, execution, and problem-solving. This role will grow, manage, and mentor the QA team, while also engaging in key testing and automation activities while driving process improvements. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and compliance of the software, especially in relation to patient safety and data integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts for healthcare / EHR applications.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to validate system stability and accuracy.
  • Validate data integrity across EHR modules (scheduling, billing, provider notes, claims, clinical documentation, etc.).
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and clinical SMEs to understand healthcare workflows and translate them into testing scenarios.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR) and company security standards.
  • Identify, log, and track software defects using issue-tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with clinical staff and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for QA processes, tools, and automation frameworks.

Requirements

  • Healthcare / EHR Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2–4 years of QA / testing experience in healthcare software, with emphasis on EHR / EMR systems.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, HIPAA compliance).
  • Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit).
  • Familiarity with SQL for validating clinical and billing data in databases.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API testing tools (e.g., Postman, ReadyAPI).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technical and clinical teams.

    Additional Information

    The expected base salary for this role is $140,000-160,000 annually at the start of employment. Final base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors such as location and years of experience. In addition to compensation, PsychPlus Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, which may include health insurance, paid time off, retirement plan options, and other company-sponsored benefits.
