Works directly with customers and RoviSys team to define functional requirements and design, configure, and commission control systems & software programs for Drive Coordination and Control, from single motor applications to multiple, coordinated drive systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, partners, and clients to provide state-of-the-art Control Systems that improve efficiency, product quality, and profitability.
- Analyze customer drives, control systems, and critical processes using engineering knowledge.
- Utilize test equipment to start-up, commission, and repair Drives and Control equipment, including analog and digital, LV / MV AC / DC, standalone, and coordinated drive systems, as well as PLC controllers in heavy industries like Steel, Paper, and Chemical.
- Define and implement PLC & DCS configurations.
- Perform testing, on-site commissioning, and qualification of control systems.
- Mentor less experienced engineers.
- Develop engineering standards to improve project efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide technical sales support to the business development team.
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in automation or related fields.Ability to perform technical and managerial responsibilities effectively.Effective communication with customers and colleagues.Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.Proven track record in managing small projects from start to finish.Experience in authoring proposals and change orders.Thorough understanding of control system design and coding.Self-motivated with excellent communication skills.Hands-on experience with current PLC or DCS platforms.Desired Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technology.Fundamentals of electrical design.Minimum 5 years of field engineering experience with drives and controls equipment (e.g., Allen Bradley, ABB, Siemens, GE, Toshiba).Experience with drives, controls equipment, and programming in Steel Rolling and Processing industries.Knowledge of PLC's / Drives troubleshooting and communication protocols.Understanding of Electrical Power Distribution related to VSDs.Awareness of process safety and documentation practices.Additional Information
