Job SummaryThe Lead Instructor is a full-time role responsible for teaching Food Lab’s cooking classes, ensuring staff accountability, and supporting operational consistency. This position leads by example in class instruction, staff oversight, and inventory management to maintain Food Lab’s standards of quality and hospitality.
Schedule :
Thursday–Sunday : 2 : 00 pm – 10 : 00 pm
Monday : Daytime hours (prep, admin, training, and operations support)
Essential Skills
- Culinary & Teaching Expertise
- Strong culinary knowledge and ability to teach a wide range of cuisines.
- Skilled in pacing, recipe execution, and managing group instruction.
- Clear communicator able to engage guests and lead classes.
- Leadership & Accountability
- Train, mentor- instructors, assistants, and support staff.
- Enforce Food Lab’s teaching standards and workflows consistently.
- Provide direct feedback and hold staff accountable for performance.
Operational & Inventory Management
Maintain organized, stocked, and compliant kitchens.Support the Culinary Operations Director in operational systems and consistency across classes.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesTeach scheduled classes using Food Lab’s structure and standards.Monitor class execution to ensure recipes and pacing are consistent.Train and oversee instructors and assistants during classes.Manage class flow, delegate tasks, and hold staff accountable.Track inventory and ensure kitchens remain organized and compliant.Report class outcomes, staff issues, and operational needs to the Culinary Operations Director.Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and planning sessions.Job Type : Full-time
