Assure residents are given adequate assistance with personal care and oral hygieneAssistwith ambulation, transferring or transporting of residents, (including pushing residents in wheelchairs) to the dining rooms, activities and / or various areas of Prairieview as necessaryFollowestablished standards of nursing practice and implements facility policies and proceduresListento resident and family concerns and initiatecorrective actions and communicateconcerns and outcomes to the NurseProvidesupport and encouragement to all residents to remain as independent as possibleAssistwith serving meals and beverages, supervising dining rooms during meal times to ensure resident safetyObserveinfection control proceduresCompleteresident rounds as assigned, reporting any resident care issues to the Nurse on dutyAssistwith orientation of new residents to the facilityMaintainaccurate records of each resident's daily care on the appropriate documents, and in accordance with state and federal regulationsMaintainconfidentiality of resident records and facility informationAttendall in-service classes as assignedCometo work in a clean neat uniform, and consistently presenta professional appearanceCometo work as scheduled and consistently demonstratedependability and punctualityQualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
CNA certificationExperience working in assisted living, home health or long-term care environmentHigh school diploma orequivalentMust possess, or be able to obtain current CPR certificationMust be familiar with the Rights of the Resident, the definition of Resident Abuse, and the reporting protocol of possible Resident AbuseDemonstrateexcellent listening skills and communicateeffectively while conveying patience and understandingTreatall customers with dignity and respect and establishes a trusting relationship with them, while maintaining confidencesCompleteall appropriate documentation accurately and timelyCommunicateany allegation of resident abuse immediately to NurseMust have an adequate understanding of English and be able to speak and write it wellMust be able to work independently, as well as a team member, with a positive, pro-active attitudeFollowall policies and procedures of Prairieview at The GarlandsPhysical Requirements for CNA :
Must be able to manually lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequentlyMust be able to assist in transferring residents who weigh in excess of 50 lbs. occasionallyMust be able to tolerate long periods of walking, bending and standingMust be able to push customers in wheelchairs frequently for brief periods of time
