MAJORFUNCTION
Develops materialrequirements, prepares supplier delivery schedules, and schedulesmaterial as needed to ensure parts are ordered to meet theproduction schedule.
Plant contact to supplier and subcontractorsto maintain delivery plan. Expedites late orders while maintainingoptimum inventorylevels.
DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES
INVENTORYCONTROL / PARTSREQUISITION
Developsmaterial requirements using SAP and / or other advancedinformation.
Preparesrequisition orders specifying quantity and scheduled delivery datesutilizing the desired inventory levelpolicies.
Analyzes orderedparts and initiates adjustments to purchase orders in keeping withestablished orderpolicies.
Adjusts anypurchase orders affected by engineering drawing and bill ofmaterial changes as directed bymanagement.
EXPEDITINGOFMATERIALS
Coordinatestransportation activities with regards to critical parts whilemaintaining optimum cost and timeparameters.
Coordinatesinformation and delivery on new production parts for prototype andnew productbuilds.
Supports plantKanban program with analysis of usage, suitability of potentialvendors and parts for inclusion in theprogram.
COMMUNICATION / PROBLEM-SOLVING
Coordinatesthe activities required remedying parts shortages caused by toolingdelays, equipment deficiencies, supplier delivery constraints,and / or other relatedissues.
Works directlywith Quality Control as concernsarise.
Works with Sourcing,Quality, and Receiving to return rejected or damaged inventory tothe supplier.
Interacts withproduction supervisors and production schedulers on partsavailability.
Maintainopen communication with suppliers of productionparts.
Perform otherassigned duties directed bymanagement.
SAFETY
Ensurethat all safety rules and programs are followed and maintainedwithin the assigned area of responsibility.
Mayassist in the development of plant safety rules and programs asrequired.
JOBDIMENSIONS
Interpersonalworking relationships with multi-levels of employees andmanagement, including Production, Engineering, Quality Control,Purchasing, and ToroCorporate.
Regularlyinteracts with Toro suppliers to order and expedite materials on atimely basis.
Provideproduct / schedule information and coordinate / resolvesituations.
Make dailyindependent decisions under generalsupervision.
Oftenworks under pressure to meet schedule changes, deal with partsemergencies and outages, or deal with unforeseen deliveryproblems.
JOBSPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Twoyear post high school education from a vocational technical schoolor college in business administration, accounting, or relatedfield; or
Minimum of 2 yearsdirect experience in inventory control, materials management, ortrafficoperations.
