WHY THE CEDAR ROOM...

The Cedar Room at Mercantile and Mash, located in the celebrated Cigar Factory, is an open and airy space featuring historic wood columns, hardwood floors and original elements of the circa 1881 building.

The walls consist of rustic brick and floor-to-ceiling windows that reveal a view of the architecturally acclaimed Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge.

The 8,000 square foot private event venue can accommodate parties and celebrations of up to 500 guests, from intimate cocktail receptions to seated dinners for 300 guests.

The space features a bridal suite, built-in bar, and a courtyard with 1,500 square feet of additional event space.

THE ROLE...

The Catering Sales Manager will apply their operations experience and strategic planning strengths to ensure that each IRHG event venue is providing a great experience for team members and guests and maximizing all profit opportunities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to :

  • Work with the Indigo Road Hospitality Group (IRHG) Home Office Leadership team and, in particular, with the senior operations leaders and the Revenue Management Team and IRHG marketing partners on developing sales growth strategies for driving total top line revenue generation for each business unit.
  • Oversee and support the property-based sales teams.
  • Insure effective selling processes are in place.
  • Be a task force manager at the unit level from time to time as needed.
  • Work with sales teams to support major and critical developing client accounts
  • Inspire the Sales team to work collaboratively toward a shared vision, while providing ongoing mentoring, coaching, and development opportunities
  • Build high performing, cohesive, customer focused solutions sales teams.
  • Identify, develop, and retain high performing sales professionals
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, take ownership of personal and team actions, communicate effectively, promote collaboration, nurture a positive, professional work environment, and ensure development of a successful sales strategy.

  • 2 years of sales experience required
  • College Degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Strong supervisory and personnel management experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong ability to sell ideas
  • Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to work independently on projects and collaborate as a strong team member
  • Excellent attention to detail, flexible and adaptable to change
  • Ability to operate under pressure and meet or exceed deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and analytical skills
  • Positive, outgoing, and self-motivating individual with pleasant personality and strong leadership skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance in all situations

Flexibility : Your schedule may vary (days, nights, weekends, holidays) based on seasonality, covers, and hours of operation.

In general, you can anticipate working 50 to 55 hours a week.
