Primary Function :
The person in this position will perform facilities and equipment maintenance and calibration and related duties as determined by the CBI quality system.
Essential Job Function / Duties
- Perform preventative and corrective facilities and equipment maintenance and calibration tasks.
- Ensure scheduled routine tasks are completed on time per the maintenance schedule.
- Communicate with vendors to schedule services and purchase parts and materials.
- Host outside vendors, and ensure their work is done to Cook Biotech quality standards.
- Respond in a timely manner to maintenance help tickets.
- Record work performed per quality system procedures.
- Maintain facilities / maintenance / calibration supplies and parts inventory.
- Perform routine cleaning of assigned facility areas.
- Report deviations and other potential problems to management in a timely manner.
- Provide assistance with facility renovation projects.
- Apply understanding of Cook Biotech Quality System requirements in carrying out duties.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as directed by Team Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
- Apply continuous improvement continuous improvement concepts to maintenance systems and processes.
Minimum Work Experience / Educational Requirements
- Experience in commercial facilities maintenance desired - carpentry, painting, flooring, basic plumbing, etc.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools desired.
- Experience performing basic electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance preferred.
- Experience with calibration of instruments preferred.
- Willingness to learn new skills and procedures from team members and ability to follow direction from Team Lead, Supervisor, and Manager is essential.
- Detail oriented and able to follow written instructions precisely.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to communicate and work constructively with team members and other colleagues to achieve established goals.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Proficient with using computers for word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheets. Experience with Microsoft Office suite preferred.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Limited exposure to hazardous chemicals and / or active pharmaceutical ingredients used in the manufacture of product.
- Physical demands include walking, sitting, bending down and standing for prolonged periods of time; using ladders; lifting, up to 50 lbs.
