Job Summary :
This Research Service Program Manager will be operating as the Community Engagement Program Managerin the Claw Indigenous Genomics and Ethics Laboratory (Claw lab), under the supervision of Katrina Claw, PhD, located in the Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) and will be focused on engaging community-based individuals and groups involved in research projects.
The Claw lab focuses on pharmacogenomics and the cultural, ethical, legal, and social (CELSI) implications of genomic research with American Indian / Alaska Native and other Indigenous communities.
Current research in the lab focuses on characterizing pharmacogenomic variation (cytochrome P450 enzymes), tobacco cessation and nicotine metabolism, and examining the perspectives of genetic research in Native American communities.

The Community Engagement Program Manager is responsible for strategizing, implementing, and maintaining program initiatives that adhere to Claw lab objectives, as well as being the support contact for participants in research projects and community groups as well as providing research updates and educational materials to tribal and community partners.
They may also help draft regulatory documents, administrative tasks, and grant applications as needed in the Claw lab. The Community Engagement Program Manager works under the direction of Dr.
Claw and in close coordination with the Claw lab and DBMI administrative and support staff to oversee community engagement and to help meet established timelines and goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Liaise and coordinate with a variety of program / project stakeholders, including supporting participants and tribal communities of potential and enrolled research participants in genomics and ELSI research studies.
This may include engaging with groups of all sizes in various modalities, including telephone, web-based, and in-person groups.
- Manage and coordinate project deliverables from conception through completion, including quality assurance, community engagement, risk assessment, milestone deliverables, forecasting, managing scope, and delivering the scope on-time and on budget.
- Develop and implement community outreach and engagement initiatives with community partners and other stakeholders.
- Participate in program / project budget development processes and regularly reviews budgets to ensure alignment.
- Create educational materials (e.g., pamphlets, social media formats) and maintain materials for updated websites (lab and research study).
- Provide expert advice in the design, writing, review, and amending of participant-facing study-related essential documents, including informed consent forms, assent forms, standard operating procedures, recruitment materials, etc.
- Perform a variety of research administrative / operation duties in collaboration with the DBMI research operation team, including coordination with consultants, research participants, and community members and processing study subject payment, honorarium, and other research-related forms.
Also, collaborate with research administration team on consultant / participant supplier set-up and scope of work (SOW).

This position has the option to work on site in Aurora, CO or work remotely.
