Must-haves
- 3+ years of experience supporting computationally and data intensive research projects
- Experience working within a High Performance Computing environment (HPC)
- Experience with HPC job schedulers (SLURM) and scientific code troubleshooting for Linux Clustering
- Experience working with Principal Investigators (PIs) on computational projects from various science domains
- Scripting experience with R, Bash, or Python to pull data, develop scientific workflows and pipelines
- Familiarity with parallel job execution (MPI), code troubleshooting, debugging and profiling
- Masters or PHD in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering Computer Science, or related field
Plusses :
- AI, Deep Learning, or Machine Learning experience
- Containerization (docker, singularity, apptainer)
- Cloud computing

Insight Global is looking for a HPC Research Scientist for our higher education customer in New Jersey. This person will be able to work within a hybrid model to accomplish the tasks of this role within their computer academic and reporting team.
This person should be comfortable accomplishing the following duties of the role :
- Helps to develop new and install and adapt existing data science and machine learning tools for research workflows and analytical pipelines for data being created in molecular and cellular biology and genomics, as well as engineer new toolsets that include AI models and Deep Learning algorithms developed in-house.
- Supports the customer research community, as well as other research disciplines, in their research computing and data related research.
- Engages in local outreach on the client campuses throughout New Jersey to identify potential new users of research computing and data resources
