Manager, Business Systems (226 Days)

Description

• Oversee all day-to-day operations of the district's APEX applications and Oracle ERP system and lead a team of technical resources by providing vision and direction for designing, developing, troubleshooting and optimizing software applications and processes.
• Lead the development and implementation of the Enterprise Applications strategy and roadmap for the district's APEX applications and Oracle ERP system to ensure its integration with the broader IT and enterprise strategic plans.

Provide support for various Oracle-related projects as needed. (ie. Oracle ERP Lift and Shift Cloud project).

• Provide continuous improvement as it relates to technical policies, standards, and standard operating procedures.
• Manage a team of technical resources and ensure service level standards are focused on response times, issue resolution, service quality, and customer satisfaction.

Monitor individual and team backlog of work to ensure that service and performance standards are achieved or exceeded.

• Facilitate knowledge transfer and information to other team members to ensure the team operates efficiently and there is shared knowledge on the design, development, and implementation of all applications and processes.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, subordinates, supervisors, and vendor representatives.
• Attract, retain, and develop technical talent with required skills and capabilities.
• Give technical and business support to customers, helpdesk, and other internal personnel to meet business and operational requirements.
• Confer with analysts, developers, and others to assist in system design and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
• Supervise the activities of the department following the district's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;

planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in the IT business / industry leading diverse roles with increasing leadership responsibilities across major projects and implementations.
• 3-5 years prior supervisory experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with APEX and core Oracle EBS modules (Human Resources, Payroll, Payables, Receivables, General Ledger, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, iExpense, Order Management, Purchasing, iProcurement, Inventory, iSupplier).
• Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud is a plus (ERP, EPM, HCM).
• Familiarity with PL / SQL, SQL, HTML, XML.
• Experience working with Oracle Technical Support to research and resolve Oracle application bugs and functionality issues.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to communicate a vision that inspires and motivates the technical team and aligns with the IT and business strategy.
• Experience in preparing written documentation of procedures and technical matters.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams.
• Clear and concise communication with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of internal staff and vendors.
• Experience in K-12 educational environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of relational database design, file access methods, data standards, data control, and security.
• Oracle Certification is a plus.
