Job Title : Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, analyze, document, and support the testing of precision opto-mechanical components and products, including optical assemblies, IR & visible sights, and electronics packaging primarily for military applications.
As a member of a project team, you will use computer-aided engineering or other design / analysis software to develop new or improved products.
You will evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet performance requirements, investigate solutions to product or process problems, and perform structural and thermal modeling and analysis of complex opto-mechanical systems.
Additionally, you will develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks, collaborate with Systems Engineering and other Design Engineering disciplines, provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments, participate in and conduct peer reviews and formal design reviews, create and release engineering drawings and documents using PLM systems, and support the testing of products.
Hard Skills
- Precision mechanical and mechanism design experience
- 3D CAD experience
- GD&T (tight tolerances) true position of 14 or less

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Melbourne, Florida.
Work Environment
You will work on a team with 6-10 people, conducting layout architecture and preliminary CAD work. You will size parts and bearings and interact with outside vendors.
