About the role

Future Horizon R&D’s remit is to pursue and build strategic advantages in prioritised areas of science and technology application to deliver growth in strategic key verticals that enable our brands / BUs to take up future leadership positions through Deep Human understanding and unique & differentiated Trusted Science.

The FH group translates new approaches learnt in the process of building strategic science & technology into new capabilities for R&D.

This role helps define the long-term, global Wellness strategy by identifying opportunity areas, partnering and derisking early-stage relevant science & technology.

As part of a Global new technologies team, this role will serve as the primary link between Regional R&D (NA or APAC) and the global team to ensure key science platforms

The New Ingredient for Health end points Senior Scientist role focuses on :

New Ingredients & Delivery Technologies

Evidence Generation

Interactive Technology

Innovative Claim GenerationIdentifying agile, low-cost alternatives to conventional Clinical studies to support Product Claims

Role Responsibilities

Identify potential intervention points and new ingredients that can address or delay chronic conditions.

Identifying and developing preferred relationships with key strategic partners to deliver Science and Growth

Facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration within Healthy Gut, Ageing & Microbiome platform and wellness groups around the world as well as more broadly across FHS&T.

Actively facilitate networking and partnership activities with Categories and BUs

Build a network of functional experts within the broader CH R&D organization (eg. FHS&T, Innovation Research, Category / BU R&D Leads etc) to support Healthy Gut, Ageing & Microbiome platform science & technology opportunities.

Basic Qualifications :

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals :

Bachelor of Science, in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Nutrition, Biochemistry or Biomedical science.

Ability to drive scientific excellence, understand key technologies, build models, and communicate effectively within R&D.

5+ years in FMCG or Consumer Healthcare

Experience in Consumer Science / Products Research (qualitative & quantitative research, consumer modelling, upstream / front end consumer need definition AND downstream / product validation and claims substantiation)

Excellent analytical skills, including strategic thinking.

Communication and influencing skills, ability to lead change.

Commercially savvy is appreciated.

Preferred Qualifications :

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus :

Master of Science, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Nutrition, Biochemistry or Biomedical science

This role is expected to build the New Ingredient for Health end points Senior Scientist support for Healthy Gut, Ageing & microbiome capability at the company level, and influence the innovation pipeline by curating knowledge and also conducting transfer workshops with categories / BUs.

This position is a grade : 7
