The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City H + H / Queens has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director of the Department of Anesthesiology.
The candidate will perform a full spectrum of anesthetic clinical care, including the following duties : responsible for clinical coordination and in charge of the operating room at least 3 days a week;
take overnight calls, which may include night shifts more than 3 times a month; must be competent in arterial line, central line placement, TAP block, and other peripheral nerve blocks as needed.
Administrative responsibilities include assisting the Director with oversight of all aspects of the service and supervision of staff.
The candidate will take the role of Acting Director when the Director is away. Candidates should have a strong interest in clinical quality operations, as there are various opportunities for program development and advancement.
They should be motivated to extend the Anesthesia Department's services.
The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and vehicle from all areas of New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island.
Candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. degree, ACGME approved residency training in Anesthesiology, and be board certified by the ABA or in the process of certification with a valid New York State License, DEA, and Medicaid number.
Qualified candidates should possess strong clinical abilities, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with public health systems is preferred.
