The Parts Procurement & Inventory Specialist will purchasesupplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining efficient inventory levels. OVERALL GOALS
- Establish and maintain business relationships with various vendors to achieve optimal purchasing efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service internally and externally.
- Maintaining people and business skills to work as a team to build solid working relationships with professionalism.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all procedures and systems involved with purchasing.
- Receiving and shelve the daily shipments of spare parts and facility supplies and completing the necessary documentation in SAP.
- Notifying people when the items they have requested have arrived, so that they can be picked up by the requestor.
- Review and apply inventory activities, including movements, discrepancies, and deletions to maintain and update inventory records
- Report any stock issues to management and place product orders as necessary
- Prepare a list of depleted products and a survey of unusable products
- Purchase Order, Receive, Consume, and Reconcile spare parts in SAP
- Cycle count spare parts inventory and update in SAP
- Assist staff with check out of spare parts inventory area
- Monitors and communicate all transactions for assigned area(s).
- Be flexible enough to work overtime, assist in material handling functions, and fill in for other Inventory Control personnel asrequired and as specified by the hiring Manager.
- Follow all safety rules for department and entire facility.
- General housekeeping as needed.
- Other tasks as needed ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Follow purchasing and inventory control procedures and sequence of operations within department to optimize work flow.
- Review market, price, delivery conditions and trends to determine present and future material sourcing.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships to obtain optimal delivery, quality and price.
- Negotiate as needed to obtain optimal delivery, quality and price.
- Assist in other duties and projects as assigned. ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITY
- Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task when dealing with many requests from multiple customers each day.
- Must be computer literate, and able to use email, group texts (Google Chat), and SAP accounting software.
- Responsible for accurate cycle counts and consumption of parts and materials using RF scanners & hand counting at times.
- Must be able to accurately take notes and pay attention to important details.
- Must work well with others, as this is a team effort in a 24-hour operation. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in business is preferred.
- 2 or more years of experience with proven results working in a purchasing and inventory control.
- Working knowledge of email, internet, and Microsoft Office Software.
- Experience in SAP a plus
- Valid AZ Driver’s license with safe driving history.
- Satisfactory results of criminal background check resulting in no convictions related to the essential skills of the position, to includeability to perform the job in an ethical, safe and secure manner.
- Must be able to obtain Forklift certification
