Assistance is required to update processes, procedures and manuals for the region. Completed manuals will establish an operational framework for the SWO Jamat.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team to create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing and be proficient in defining processes and procedures.
This role requires the ability to conduct interviews to gather information and produce key documents such as evacuation plans, lockdown procedures, and safety manuals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Documentation Creation : Develop, write, and edit essential documents, including Jamatkhana evacuation plans, Jamatkhana lockdown plans, and SWO Safety, Security & Emergency Preparedness (SSEP) Procedure Manual.
- Process and Procedure Definition : Define and document processes and procedures, ensuring clarity and compliance with safety and security standards.
- SSEP Documentation : Update and consolidate existing materials to create comprehensive SSEP documentation and additional related materials as needed.
- Information Gathering : Conduct interviews with stakeholders to discern and collect inputs necessary for accurate and effective documentation.
- Content Structuring : Organize and structure content to enhance readability and usability, ensuring that all documentation meets the needs of its intended audience.
- Quality Assurance : Review and revise documentation for accuracy, completeness, and clarity, making sure it adheres to company standards and best practices.
- Collaboration : Work closely with safety, security, and emergency preparedness teams to ensure documentation aligns with current practices and procedures.
- Updates & Maintenance : Regularly update documents to reflect changes in procedures, safety protocols, and other relevant information.
About You
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Safety Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical writing with a focus on safety, security, and emergency preparedness documentation.
- Skills :
- Proficiency in technical writing, including documentation creation and process definition.
- Experience with safety, security, and emergency preparedness procedures.
- Strong ability to conduct interviews and gather information from various stakeholders.
- Communication Skills : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly translate complex information into user-friendly documentation.
- Attention to Detail : Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors and inconsistencies.
- Teamwork : Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, particularly in safety and security contexts.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with emergency preparedness and safety documentation in a similar setting.
- Certification in technical writing or safety management is a plus.
