Position Overview : As our Fleet / Equipment Manager, you'll hold a crucial role in overseeing both the administrative and technical aspects of our fleet maintenance operations.
You'll be responsible for coordinating the smooth functioning of our fleet operations, from managing day-to-day activities to ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.
This position demands a unique blend of leadership, organizational aptitude, and technical proficiency to optimize workflow, uphold quality standards, and provide exceptional support to our field teams.
Your role will spearhead the procurement process for a diverse range of assets essential to our operations, including field vehicles, heavy equipment, traffic control vehicles, and any other resources deemed necessary.
This involves conducting thorough market research to identify reliable suppliers and negotiating favorable terms and pricing agreements to optimize cost-efficiency.
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and prioritize workflow to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Take the lead in procuring field vehicles, heavy equipment, and other necessary resources, optimizing cost-efficiency and reliability.
- Work closely with Shop Foreman to assign tasks to Mechanics and Field Technicians based on skill level, workload, and deadlines.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to Mechanics as needed, particularly with complex diagnostics and repairs.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Interact with operators and field leadership to understand their needs, explain repair options and address any concerns or questions.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety regulations, environmental standards
Qualifications :
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members towards shared goals.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, heavy equipment, diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-centric focus.
- A willingness to embrace a fast-paced environment with a dedication to excellence.
- ASE certification or certification from a recognized training program is preferred.
