Performs a variety of tasks related to food service including the service and clean-up of food service to residents, visitors and staff.
Ensures our senior residents have a pleasant dining experience. Resolves customer complaints and ensures duties are completed by Dining Services Assistants.
Responsibilities
1. Direct activities, provides guidance and assists staff performing food service duties.
2. Performs Host duties including seating residents.
3. Works in the Bistro and handles cash when necessary.
4. Collects resident food orders and deliver food directly to residents.
5. Prepare and serve a variety of beverages.
6. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans and or silverware by hand washing or using the dishwasher.
7. Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
8. Carry food supplies, equipment and utensils to and from storage and work areas.
9. Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers.
10. Scrape leftovers from dishes into garbage containers.
11. Sweep and mop the kitchen and dining room floor.
12. Ensure Dining Services Assistants are completing assigned closing checklists.
13. Ensure Dining Services Assistants are bussing their tables in a timely manor.
14. Collects comment cards.
15. Resolve customer complaints regarding food service.
16. Inform Director of Dining Services of any equipment and supply needs, repair / maintenance needs, safety hazards, and any unusual occurrences or observations.
17. Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to keep informed on current information and skill development.
18. Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to :
o Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures.
o Safety policies and procedures.
o Federal, state and local regulations.
19. All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education :
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience :
One to two years related experience
Computer Skills
Must be able to operate a computer
Other Requirements
Supervisory Experience preferred
Must be able to calculate simple mathematical equations
Must be able to interpret menus and recipes
Must be available evenings and weekend
