Full Time Benefits Analyst, La Crosse, WI : Kwik Trip, Inc.'s Benefits Department has an opening for a full time Benefits Analyst in La Crosse, WI.
This person will be responsible for ongoing strategic support and will work closely with the Benefits Manager to oversee the administration of employee benefit plans and programs through analysis of claims detail, auditing, reporting and communication.
This person will ensure benefit compliance with Federal and state laws, working with benefit vendors while maintaining the company's goals and objectives regarding benefits offered.
In addition, this person will prepare benefits reporting, perform analysis, document processes, evaluate processes for streamlining and efficiency improvement, propose changes to existing programs, and assist in the implementation of new benefit plans or programs.
This position must apply working knowledge of legislative issues and laws that impact employee benefits and be familiar with COBRA, PPACA, HIPPA and ERISA requirements.
Benefits Administration :
- Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
- Process enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits systems.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure the smooth operation of benefits programs.
Data Analysis and Reporting :
- Analyze benefits data to monitor trends, utilization, and costs.
- Prepare regular reports on benefit plan performance and present findings to management.
- Recommend plan adjustments based on data analysis to optimize benefits offerings.
Vendor Management :
- Coordinate with benefits providers to resolve issues and ensure service quality.
- Assist in the evaluation, selection and implementation of benefits vendors and plans.
- Coordinate open enrollment activities, including, but not limited to, system setup.
Payroll Coordination :
- Work closely with the payroll department to ensure accurate processing of benefit-related payroll deductions.
- Reconcile benefits deductions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in the auditing of payroll records to ensure correct benefits deductions are applied.
Process Improvement :
- Identify opportunities to streamline benefits administration processes.
- Participate in special projects related to benefits programs, system implementations, or process improvements.
Compliance and Legal Requirements :
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local benefits regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA).
- Assist with audits and ensure timely filing of required documentation.
- Stay updated on legislative changes affecting benefits and communicate impacts to management.
Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field and 1-3 years' experience in benefits analysis, administration or implementation.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines, working knowledge of current and pending benefit laws, knowledge of disclosure reporting requirements to participants and regulatory bodies, knowledge of defined contribution and defined benefit plan structure and requirements, knowledge of basic payroll functions, HRIS systems, MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point, and working knowledge of medical terminology, billing and insurance code, and advanced insurance terminology.
Work Schedule : Monday-Friday Daytime Hours, Weekends and some overnights as needed.
