THE POSITION
The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will report to Wondercide’s Chief Growth Officer, John Gunning, and play a critical role within the innovation team and company.
The role will manage all regulatory submissions and ensure accurate, consistent compliance with regulations in packaging and marketing.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage state label registration process
- Develop and improve the current system for timely filing and managing state label registrations for EPA regulated products, including FIFRA 25(b) products, across all US applicable states and territories.
- File and manage state label registration applications for pest control products and pet care where applicable.
- Manage communications with regulatory agencies regarding submissions to request clarification, follow up with questions, and respond to inquiries from the agencies.
- Ensure registrations are up to date in each state based on company guidelines
- Ensure appropriate claims substantiation and documentation is in place to support label approvals across the states.
- Ensure any mandatory reporting requirements are followed.
- Perform review and sign-off on all product labels to confirm accuracy and compliance prior to submission.
Stay abreast of evolving regulatory landscape
- Stay current on new changes and proposed changes to regulatory requirements for relevant products, assess the potential impact of changes on the company’s products, and communicate updates and implications in product related standards or regulations to the cross-functional team.
- Understands and applies regulatory requirements (specifically pest control and natural products for humans and animals) and their impacts for submissions.
Develop and maintain regulatory documentation
- Develop and maintain regulatory compliance documentation, including technical files, regulatory dossiers, product SDS, etc.
- Maintain archives and records in accordance with applicable regulations. Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Support regulatory inspections as required.
- Write and update SOP’s and identify continuous improvement opportunities for the submissions process.
- Assist in the preparation and management of annual regulatory budget, including state registrations and agency consulting fees.
Collaborate with the cross-functional team on new products & base business
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, R&D, manufacturing, etc to ensure regulatory compliance and considerations throughout the product life cycle and across consumer touchpoints.
- Provide regulatory guidance in support of new product development and base business management, including support on developing substantiation and reporting to support new and differentiated product claims.
- Review and provide regulatory guidance on product labels and marketing assets.
- Develop and maintain detailed and summary trackers and report to management as needed.
- Provide guidance and support on regulatory issues with retail partners in order to secure and maintain product availability in all channels of trade.
The Regulatory Specialist will be expected to adapt and take on new responsibilities and implement new processes and systems as the company grows.
Requirements :
- 4-5 years proven track record of successful progression in product compliance and government regulations
- Knowledge and experience working within the regulatory requirements for the pest control industry, EPA FIFRA (25b)
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Certification, Sciences, Compliance Engineering, entomology, veterinary sciences or regulatory affairs
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment with little supervision
- Highly collaborative with the ability to work across functions
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred skills and experiences :
- Experience working in consumer packaged goods
- Experience working with the FDA for pet care products
