Our client is the first organization to address Israel’s economic and social gaps through higher education. They award university scholarships to capable young Israelis and establish on-campus support systems to help them succeed.
Each year, hundreds of students who dared to not dream of a higher education became the first in their families to earn a degree.
They are looking for an Executive Director who will provide leadership, direction, management, and oversight to achieve the mission and goals of the Foundation.
The Executive Director for the Non-Profit Foundation must have the following Qualifications :
- Demonstrate experience in positions of increasing executive responsibility in the Jewish philanthropic sector, and should be able to demonstrate impact as a change agent in prior posts.
- Significant experience in board development and in cultivating major donors, foundation, and corporate prospects.
- Demonstrate a track record of successful fundraising, grant writing, and resource mobilization.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative programs and initiatives to advance the organization’s mission.
- Outstanding people management skills to elicit the best work from staff and facilitate the work of the board to advance the organization’s mission.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
- Proven track record of strategic planning, financial management, and organizational development.
- Knowledge of Israel and Hebrew would be helpful but not essential.

The Executive Director for the Non-Profit Foundation will have the following Responsibilities :
Leadership and Vision : Further develop and communicate a clear vision for the organization’s future growth and impact.
Provide strategic leadership to staff, volunteers, and all stakeholders.
- Lead all fundraising activities and assist in board development and expanding the donor base. Identify and cultivate new prospects, whether individual, foundation, or corporate.
- Fiscal : Oversee organization budget; track donor income, organizational investments (including endowment); supervise progress of annual audit.
- Organizational Management : Oversee all aspects of organizational operations, including budgeting, finance, marketing, and program development.
Oversee 5 part-time staff in New York, as well as outside consultants (PR, events, IT); ensure staff and systems are trained and updated to current NGO standards.
- Maintain and continue to enhance open channels of communication with the organization’s program office and board in Israel.
- Program Development : Lead the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that support the organization’s mission and liaising with students.
- Oversee marketing of the organization’s public image in support of increased visibility in the philanthropic community;
provide strategic oversight of gala, young leadership, and other donor events.
Evaluation and Impact Assessment : Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, collecting data and feedback to measure impact and inform continuous improvement efforts.
