Position Summary
As the Enterprise Risk Program Manager, you will be responsible for developing, facilitating, and leading the oversight, execution, and evolution of the Enterprise Risk Management Program and all the related processes.
Using a consultative approach, you will facilitate discussions and meetings with various internal business unit customers to assess and identify organizational risks and create mitigation plans for the higher-level risks.
You will be accountable for providing the framework and high standards for the Enterprise Risk Management Program, providing oversight, and creating awareness and education about risk at all levels of the organization.
You are responsible for coordinating meetings at the executive level to achieve consensus on the current identified risks, and accountable to help set the vision and direction for the program which includes meeting with executive management and providing periodic updates at various Board meetings.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Encourages and facilitates enterprise risk engagement and awareness across and through the organization. This will include, among other things, attending reoccurring business unit staff meetings, assisting in further developing a training program for all levels of the organization, scheduling meetings with stakeholders to discuss emerging risks as they are identified, and creating self-help risk tools / metrics to assist the business units.
- As part of the overall integrated planning of the organization, facilitates and coordinates a periodic, review of the enterprise risk register for the organization, which culminates in achieving executive consensus of current and new enterprise risks.
Other integrated planning responsibilities include validating risk considerations in business cases and facilitating the creation of mitigation plans for any high and swan risks identified and overseeing the succeeding engagement activities with the business units to ensure the mitigation plans implemented remain on track.
- Implement initiatives to improve the program’s effectiveness and efficiency.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new ideas, metrics, training, and concepts identified as necessary to further the maturity of the risk program and to follow emerging risk management best practices.
- Provide effective leadership to the Risk Management team and assisting in building team cohesiveness and engagement.
- Work effectively and collaboratively with various leaders, at all levels of the organization, to contribute to cross-functional team objectives.
- Lead and facilitate risk red sheets, risk assessments, and risk matrix evaluations to enable risk-based decision making.
- Responsible for overseeing and / or updating and maintaining the enterprise risk register and mitigation plan database.
- Assist in other enterprise risk tasks, projects and leadership activities as needed.
- Produce effective PowerPoint presentations as needed for meetings.
- Attend / present at CPS Energy Board of Trustees committee meetings as needed.
- Attend events and training sponsored by different risk associations.
Minimum Skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Enterprise Risk Management, Economics, Math, Accounting, or other quantitative field from an accredited university.
- Extensive CPS Energy institutional knowledge related to this posted position.
- Familiarity identifying and establishing Key Risk Indicators (KRI) to monitor critical risks.
- Experience with the electric or gas utility industry gained through experience at an electric / gas utility, an investment bank, consultant, or other professional service provider serving the industry.
- Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) framework and related software solutions.
- Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions such as SAP, PeopleSoft, or Hyperion.
- Experience establishing an aligned assurance framework to create a common risk language and risk management process for an organization.

Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in Enterprise Risk Management, Business, Accounting, Finance, Math or related business or quantitative field from an accredited university.
