Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire 2 remote Inpatient DRG Coding Specialists for a healthcare provider in the South Florida area.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inpatient DRG Coding Specialist to join our Health Information Management team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding inpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM / PCS codes and ensuring compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations.
This role is crucial in optimizing hospital reimbursement and supporting quality patient care.
Responsibilities include :
Review and analyze inpatient medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM / PCS codes.
Ensure accurate DRG assignment and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures.
Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
Stay updated with changes in coding standards, regulations, and best practices.
Participate in coding education and training sessions.
Assist in resolving coding-related issues and discrepancies.
Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems

Required Skills & Experience
HS Diploma or equivalent
AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist
2-3 years of relative experience
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Extensive knowledge with ICD-10 (PCS) coding
Well-rounded inpatient coding knowledge base
RHIT OR CCS OR RHIA Certified
CDI Program Experience
Detailed understanding of encoder system
Experience with Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS)
Competency in Word and Excel
Strong communication skills
Self-sufficient & accountable
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Cerner experience
Exposure / experience in working with large hospital systems / companies
