Position description
Mihaela Balu, Ph.D., has an opening for a post-doctoral position in the Nonlinear Optical Microscopy (NLOM) Lab ( at the Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic, University of California, Irvine (UCI).
The successful candidate will work on an exciting project focused on developing instrumentation based on multiphoton microscopy and image analysis tools for clinical applications.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, Chemistry, or a related Engineering field, or Computer Science.
- Proven experience in developing optical imaging instrumentation, including design, construction, and optimization of optical systems.
- Familiarity with nonlinear optical microscopy techniques.
- Proficiency in computational image analysis and software development for imaging applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team setting.
Preferred Experience
- Strong background in computational image analysis and / or
- Proven experience in developing optical imaging instrumentation
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and years of experience. All appointments are for two years with the potential for extension dependent upon performance and funding.
