Job Title : Material Handler
Job Description
Candidates will be operating overhead cranes to move structural steel. They will utilize various equipment including Jib Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Pallets, Transfers, and Forklifts.
Responsibilities
- Operate overhead cranes to move structural steel.
- Utilize Jib Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Pallets, Transfers, and Forklifts.
- Work collaboratively in teams of 4-5 under the supervision of a foreman.
- Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors to handle diverse day-to-day tasks.
- Lift 20 lbs continuously, 35 lbs frequently, and 85 lbs occasionally.
Essential Skills
- Experience with crane operation and material handling.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working as a welder for a steel fabricator or manufacturer.
- Alternatively, a one-year degree or certificate in welding technology from a qualified trade school or college.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in steel manufacturing and general labor.

Work Environment
The facility is a very large, open, and spacious warehouse-type environment with no workstation boundaries. It is non-climate controlled, with temperatures being 20 degrees hotter than outside in summer and normal in winter.
Employees must wear a t-shirt, jeans, and metatarsal boots, with new hires required to have their own boots on day one. Work is structured in 4 ten-hour shifts, with overtime offered as a full fifth day.
Shifts run from Monday to Thursday and Thursday to Sunday, with a 7% pay differential for the second shift. Candidates will be on their feet for the entire shift, with two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch break, all paid.
