The Director of Finance reports to the Managing Director and will be responsible for the Resort's financial, organizational, and reputational success.

This role embraces the property's vision and service culture, promoting unity and teamwork amongst all departments, cultivates a supportive and productive relationship with internal and external partners, and manages organizational change productively by driving continuous improvement, building support for change, and adapting to change.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial property management to include Hotels, Condos, Homes & Villas. and HOA’s.
  • Preparation, analysis, and reporting on monthly financial results.
  • Cash Flow Management.
  • Lender and banking relationships.
  • Budgeting and forecasting complex hospitality, HOA, and Real Estate operations.
  • Use Excel, Essbase, Hyperion & GL Wand to prepare consolidated financial statements.
  • Owner presentations.
  • Manage the relationship with owners, asset managers, Brand, and HOA boards
  • Work with the Leadership Committee to create value as a strategic business partner.
  • Review of legal contracts and related insurance requirements.
  • Familiarity with insurance placement claims and employee benefits.
  • Manage and oversee annual capital expenditures and the development and management of multi-year capital plans / budgets.
  • Oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Owner, and HOA accounting and partnering with Hyatt’s shared service center.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local taxes and Department of Labor regulations.
  • Internal and external audits and preparation of consolidated annual financial statements.

QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the job's essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must possess the following strengths : high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective communicator, capable of providing exceptional customer service, and ability to improve the bottom line.
  • Knowledge of departmental and hotel / condo / residence / resort operations.
  • Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Springer-Miller Systems and Oracle software preferred.
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in evaluating situations and in making sound decisions.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Leadership and organizational skills (team orientation, flexibility, adaptability), including leading and training a team.
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of complex financial information from many sources and create reports and forecast projections.
  • Basic understanding of complex computerized financial systems.

EDUCATION

4-year Hospitality, Accounting, Finance or similar degree required, MBA or CPA preferred, or the same in experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • 10 years or more of progressive hotel accounting experience in complex hospitality operations.
