HR Coordinator Skilled Nursing Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community and creating a place our residents are proud to call home.

The primary purpose of this position is to administer and perform human resource functions in accordance with current acceptable employment laws.

Implements company policies, processes and procedures while ensuring quality records and confidentiality of importation.

HR Coordinator Skilled Nursing Duties

  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
  • Coordinates and administers the new hire processes.
  • Regularly review and forward Onshift Engage pulse survey results to appropriate leaders.
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
  • Provide guidance to employees and manager regarding employee relations and performance issues.
  • Generates reports to track state compliance requirements.
  • Coordinates employee benefits administration as it relates to life event changes.
  • Coordinates employee department transfers, position changes and status changes, and ensures in-service requirements are updated and completed.
  • Reviews and administers all employee leave of absence requests in accordance with Federal, State, and Company policies.
  • Assists Legal Counsel in document preparation for legal matters such as state and federal charges, discovery requests, etc.
  • Maintains all legally required labor law postings.
  • Provide requested employee records during state audits.
  • Provides guidance and counsel to employees and management regarding work questions, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures employee records are maintained in compliance with all state and federal laws. Track to ensure team member compliance with ongoing education / licensing as required by regulation.

Track team member evaluations to ensure they are completed in accordance with policy

  • Participate in emergency management and safety meetings as indicated
  • Regular attendance, reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Meet federal and state in-service requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

HR Coordinator Skilled Nursing Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • The ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
  • Able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel, and the general public.
  • Be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, residents, and families.

HR Coordinator Skilled Nursing Education and Experience

  • A minimum, one (2) year of experience in Human Resources and employee benefits.
  • 1 year minimum of HR experience in a Skilled Nursing community required.
