Description :
The Cost Estimator will be responsible for managing the quoting process to support Requests for Quotes (RFQs) from current and prospective customers.
This includes providing quotes to customers, quote tracking, and technical writing. Collaboration and team building will be needed to ensure success.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Evaluate and prepare incoming requests for quotes for determining the feasibility of design and manufacturing, provide pricing information including external costs.
- Engage with multiple teams at once to take raw data (BOM costs, labor estimates, outside services, etc.) and put it into quote format for current and prospective customers.
- Quote tracking and sales support.
- Work collectively and respectfully with other team members. Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, specifications, and related documents.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Presents prepared estimate of costs for internal review and then formally presents to customers in detailed form.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, evaluating, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
- Work in conjunction with Supply Chain to ensure cost effective supplier and component selection.
- Partner with engineers on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Requirements
- Two (2) years' experience writing and formatting quotes for a manufacturing facility preferably in Medical Device.
- Ability to understand complex manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Highly skilled in technical writing with Advanced Excel experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in an effective manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong demonstrated commitment to teamwork
