Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, COTA, OTA
POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapy Assistant supports patient / resident well-being, rehabilitation and recovery.
Screens and treats patients / residents, documents services and communicates with families and interdisciplinary team members while facilitating optimization of patient / resident participation in activities of daily living.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide professional Occupational Therapy services
- Completes documentation accurately and timely
- Participates in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives
- Works efficiently and effectively whole utilizing facility resources responsibly
- Maintains adequate and up to date knowledge of Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation Services and setting specific clinical and regulatory practices
- Complies with all facility policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS :
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Must have one year experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (geriatric rehabilitation setting preferred)
- Must have current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in facility-specific state
- Must have current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- Must have current certification in Basic Life Support
- Reliable transportation required
