Position Summary

The Patient Services Coordinator is the initial point of contact for patients at our outpatient clinics. This role performs a variety of critical functions to maintain the clinical flow and to ensure patients receive care as ordered in a timely fashion.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Ã Â Ã Â Ã Â Updates patient information, provides any required forms to complete, and obtains signatures as necessary.

2.Ã Â Ã Â Ã Â Prepares charts for each clinical session and ensures lab, diagnostic test results, history & physical examinations or other documentation are in charts as appropriate.

3.Ã Â Ã Â Ã Â Schedules patients for appointments as needed, including consultation and diagnostic appointments for patients per provider / assistant request and documents such.

4.Ã Â Ã Â Ã Â Schedules transportation and / or interpreters for patient as needed.

5.Ã Â Ã Â Ã Â Verifies insurance eligibility as appropriate.

6.Ã Â Ã Â Ã Â Provides telephone coverage. Utilizes good customer service practices for all callers.Ã Â

7.Ã Â Ã Â Ã Â Completes forms as requested.

8.Ã Â Ã Â Ã Â Responds to patient requests expeditiously, maintaining an efficient clinical flow.

9.Ã Â Ã Â Ã Â Contributes to professional communication with team members in order to convey important information relating to patient care, operations, or clinical needs.

10.Ã Â Ã Â Ã Â Maintains awareness of changes in protocols / procedures of the department; maintains competency on all applicable computer systems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education : Ã Â High School diploma or GED equivalent required.

Experience : One-year experience as a medical receptionist or other related field preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position.

The pay scale is $ - $ USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to : skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and / or education.

If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicantâ€Âs years of experience align.
