Summary
TECH, a TRC brand, is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for the Southeast Region. This role is responsible for driving sales of the organization's products within this specific geographical area.
The Territory Sales Manager will provide ongoing support to the Business Development Managers and the Distribution channel by performing the following duties.
- Execute TECH’s sales policies, practices, and promotions in the Southeast region.
- Set performance objectives for all TECH Business Development Managers and Distributors.
- Provide on-the-job training to Business Development Managers and Distributors, including seminars and route sales.
- Assist in developing new accounts within the territory.
- Ensure all distributors have signed distributor agreements or amendments, as applicable.
- Represent TECH in Sales Management interactions with Business Development Managers and Distributors.
- Participate in trade shows as needed.
- Meet with key accounts within the assigned region, supporting the North America sales team in maintaining and building relationships, including our distribution network.
- Identify and suggest process improvement opportunities for TECH.
- Promote TECH’s training facility as an added benefit to customers.
- Collect and analyze competitive information.
- Meet with customers to assist Business Development Managers or distributors in maintaining and building relationships.
- Conduct ride-a-longs with Business Development Managers, assisting with retail sales, sales training, and collections.
- Conduct ride-a-longs with distributors, assisting with sales training, business analysis, and collections.
- Recruit, train, coach, and, if necessary, replace Business Development Managers and Distributors.
- Build relationships by introducing Business Development Managers to new products and sales techniques.
Supervision
Supervise Business Development Managers and Distributors within the assigned territory.
Education and Experience
Associate's degree (A.A.) with a minimum of three years of related experience and / or training in the tire / rubber industry, or five years of related experience and / or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Internet software, email software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
