The Role

The Manager Software Engineering is responsible for helping to design and implement our vision for the future of the Lumen.

They have experience with software development, product delivery, agile, DevOps and cloud computing. They are capable of leading their team by example and by contribution, as they develop and ship features.

This role requires a love of learning and problem solving, and the ability to guide a team towards implementing architectures and solutions.

Location

This position is work from home anywhere within the US.

The Main Responsibilities

• Should be well-versed with REST API development and security standards (OAuth2.0, OIDC etc).
• Should have experience using any SQL database (Oracle / PostgreSQL etc) and any NoSQL databases MongoDB / Couchbase.
• Demonstrate experience using a container ecosystem Kubernetes, Docker.
• Experience using CI / CD pipelines for application development.
• Well-versed with system design principles and performance engineering.
• Exposure to GenAI Development using langchain, vector data stores.

What We Look For in a Candidate

• 5+ years of experience in Java or Python development. Should be well-versed with development using Java / Python frameworks.
• 3+ years’ experience as a people manager.
• Experience growing and mentoring talent.
• Experience managing and leading a team working on multiple technology stacks and provide guidance as needed.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$94420 - $125890 in these states : AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.

Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
