The Team : The Fertecon Analysis team is part of the S&P Global Agribusiness business unit and sits in the Fuels, Chemicals and Resource Solutions business line within the Commodity Insights division.

For more than 40 years it has been the leading source of market information and analysis on fertilizers and fertilizer raw materials.

Fertecon produces a range of short-term and long-term forecasts on supply, demand, trade, cost and prices as well as thought leadership in traditional fertilizer and emerging markets.

The current 18-person Fertecon Analysis team continues to expand and deepen its products and services.

The Impact : You will be a key member of the Fertilizers Analysis team and report to the Head of Nitrogen. You will liaise with members of the Nitrogen Team to provide content and analysis for multiple nitrogen fertilizer products including ammonia and downstream fertilizers including urea, UAN, CAN and AN.

You will work to coordinate the work between the short-term and long-term forecasts across multiple nitrogen products and will be central to improving synergies throughout the team and creating innovative and new data models.

Climate change and sustainability is encouraging the expansion of the use of carbon-free energy and fuels, and ammonia is seen as a critical part in the chain.

As such, you have the opportunity to be involved in contributing to new and emerging market research and can play a key role in strengthening datasets and analysis of the ammonia and low-carbon ammonia products.

Responsibilities :

  • Work with all the Fertilizer Analysis team to maintain existing and create new innovative databases to enhance our research and insights in the nitrogen sector;
  • Conduct research on nitrogen fertilizers and present findings to stakeholders to build and / or influence forecasts;
  • Take ownership of portions of the various nitrogen reports;
  • Attend fertilizer conferences and client meetings to discuss market developments and represent S&P Global Commodity Insights fertilizer analysis to the industry;
  • Participate in webinars presenting analysis on nitrogen fertilizer to clients;

What We’re Looking For :

Degree level qualification or equivalent and / or proven track record of work experience; prior work experience in fertilizer / relevant chemical industry analysis an advantage

Strong command of English language, including writing and proofreading, with experience in producing written analytical reports.

  • Fluency in languages in addition to English an advantage;
  • Data analysis and data visualization skills;
  • Strong presentational and communication skills;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Excel) and wider digital literacy with Python; knowledge and experience with AI prompting commands an advantage

  • A team player who exhibits a strong willingness to support the team and develop themselves;
  • A questioning, curious and creative mindset with strong attention to detail;
  • An ability to maintain and develop industry contacts;

Superior organizational skills including time management; the ability to plan and deliver products to a defined timetable.
